About Melissa’s Wish

Melissa’s Wish was created in loving memory of Melissa Lockhart (Jan 13th, 1976 - Apr 5th, 2025), a woman whose heart overflowed with kindness, compassion, and generosity.

Throughout her life, Melissa dedicated herself to helping others — family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. Despite living with the pain and challenges of Muscular Dystrophy, she never stopped giving. When she could no longer help physically, she gave through her words, her wisdom, and her unwavering love for others.

For years, Melissa dreamed of hosting a Christmas toy drive to bring joy to children and families in need. Though her health kept her from making that dream a reality, her spirit of giving lives on through Melissa’s Wish — a charity founded by her family to continue the work she always wanted to do.

Our mission is simple: to give from the heart.
We aim to spread kindness, hope, and joy through annual toy drives, community cookouts, and charitable events that uplift and support those in need — just as Melissa did throughout her life.

This year, our very first Melissa’s Wish Toy Drive proudly benefits Texas Children’s Hospital, a place dedicated to caring for children and families through healing, hope, and heart. Together, we’re turning Melissa’s dream into a legacy — one act of love at a time.
